Trimming the tree

Time to decorate the tree!
Seems like we have started a new tradition of having hot cocoa before we trim the tree each year.  We have to have them in our special snowmen mugs with marshmallows, of course!

Mugs so big they hid your whole face....now THAT'S delicious!
The kids are getting pretty good at spacing out the ornaments around the tree.
Nolan really liked decorating the back of the tree, which was okay with us since you can see it from the stairs.

Lots of fun ornaments to put up!  The kids get an ornament from Papa and Nonnie many years and sometimes one from Gramma and Grampa and one from us.  So they have lots of special ones they love to hang.
 Deciding together!

I wanted to get a cute picture of them in their jammies together.  It was quite a challenge.

 Silliness rules the roost!

Maya thought this Santa ornament was pretty neat--it was one I got in Texas when I was a teacher there.  It is painted on a long chili pepper!  One of my favorites, too.
Finally a sweet smiley one.  The tree skirt is a special hand-painted one from our family friend Mary Ellen.  She gave it to Darin and I as a wedding present and we treasure it so much.  Makes me think of her each year. We are ready for Christmas!
