Christmas activities

This year in our new neighborhood they had a special Christmas sleigh ride complete with a visit from Santa!
Nolan was a bit nervous to visit with Santa but he wanted to go first anyway.  Santa asked him about the one gift he wished for for Christmas...and Nolan said he didn't know!  So Santa asked if he could surprise him and Nolan said yes.

Maya was pretty happy to visit with Santa.  She told Santa she wanted an American Girl doll.  Little did she know that Gramma and Grampa were going to get her one!
Santa brought the kids an assortment of smaller items and a few fun toys.
The sleigh ride was so neat!  We didn't realize it would pulled by two horses.  They were Quarterdales...part Quarter horse and part Clydesdale.  They were beautiful and the ride was so nice.  They had warm blankets for us to put on our laps and hot cocoa too!

Giddy-up!

Next up on the Christmas activities was decorating gingerbread houses.  We love these kits from Costco.  So easy!

On the last day of school, Maya and Nolan had a holiday party at school.  Just like their Halloween party, they had so much fun!
They ate some yummy snacks,
And did a fun craft (their friend Parker, his little sister Paxton, and our sweet neighbor and classmate Presley are in this picture).

Here is another mom helping Maya with her Santa ornament.

And Nolan doing his penguin ornament during craft time.

And last they played a fun game!  In this game kids got to take turns hiding a special toy and they also took turns finding it.  Here is Maya hiding it while one of her classmates waits outside the classroom.

And then it was Nolan's turn to be the finder!  As he walked away from it the class sang, "Jingle Bells" quietly and as he got closer they started to sing louder!  It was a fun game and great for a classroom party.
Here is the whole gang with their teacher Ms. Skorupan!
