For the first year, we had a successful egg dyeing experience for Easter! The kids helped out this year and we bought special white eggs for the occasion (we usually have brown on hand). Each kid got to choose the egg color they wanted to dye first, and Maya chose yellow.
Nolan chose blue. Then the kids gently dropped their eggs in the water. See Nolan's fingers?
Blue fingers!! A reminder of the fun we had! Only lasted a couple of days. :)
We also made pink and green in the first batch. While we were waiting....
we had time for some funny faces!
Silly...
Mixed....
pensive...
happy....
sad...
Time to pull the eggs out! We were happy that the colors turned out so vibrant!
Then we decided to peel and eat a few. We eat a lot of eggs, but I realized Maya and Nolan had never had a whole hard-boiled egg before! After peeling this green one, the "veins" from the egg dye looked so cool!
We made another batch and got an orange one along with this pink one and a K-State purple egg too!
