On Saturday, Darin and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. Bob and Gayla came into town to babysit (and brought Nana too, probably for backup!) so Darin and I could have a full 24 hours of freedom! We went to Worlds of Fun, had some leisure time at the hotel bar, went out for a nice dinner, and had a full breakfast in the morning. It was magical! I wasn't quite ready to return home, but all good things must come to an end. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful family who love us and our kids so much! We are so lucky that Gramma and Grampa (and Nana!) were willing to give us this special time alone. I hope they had fun too!
Gramma and Grampa brought water wings and other water toys for the kids which we are excited to use this summer. Nana also brought the kids each a book which is already a very popular item for them.
When we got home Sunday morning, it was time to go to Sydney's 11th birthday party! First, we had a delicious meal prepared by Aunt T. The kids ate themselves silly. Literally.
Here is Maya posing for the camera. Her new trick is to holding her hands up like this to say "Where?" She also likes to rest her chin in her hand like this picture shows.

When it was time to open presents, Sydney was so nice to let Maya and Nolan "help" her.
