Marvin Gardens

Memorial Day weekend we went to go visit Grandad's garden in Overland Park. Since I had seen it recently, Darin and Grandad visited and toured while I tried to keep up with the kids. They loved all the space to run around and also liked the paths that Grandaddy created through his garden.

Little Maya looked so cute!

Nolan pointed at lots of the plants while Grandad was busy, so I made up the names for him. He seemed satisfied with my answers.

Of course, we never pass up an opportunity to practice a new skill. The steps in Grandad's backyard are shallow, so Nolan got so excited that he could go up and down without holding anyone's hand (or holding onto a doorway). He did this for quite a few minutes.

Until they found the FOUNTAIN. Ahhhh, the hit of the tour.

They got absolutely soaked splashing in this water. It was the best entertainment! That was, until Nolan started picking up rocks and dirt and throwing them in. Then we had to move onto a new activity.
But Maya sneaks in a few more splashes. The water felt so cool on a hot day!

This was the afternoon that Maya got a fever that lasted 4 days. She was ready to go home!

  1. WOW WOW WOW! What a garden your granddad has! I can see why the fountain was the hit of the tour, it is beautiful! (I love Maya's hair up in her ponytail by the way, SO cute).
