Schmanke Summer days

So maybe there is such a thing as a special twin language? The other day during lunch, Maya and Nolan were babbling back and forth to each other. They have been "talking" a lot more lately so this wasn't out of the ordinary. But then I noticed that after they would do their babbling, they both would put both hands on their heads like this picture! It seemed so funny....like they were telling each other to do it in some special language.

Of course, we still have the ongoing theme of doing whatever your twin is doing. If Maya gets on the couch, Nolan wants to get on the couch. etc. Here the kids were taking turns sitting on the kitchen floor. They have started crawling around on the hard woods around the kitchen, chasing each other, and shrieking in laughter.

And here they are all ready for bed, deciding that the floor mat by the garage was so fun to sit on! They would sit like this, then get up and run across the room together, then return and sit down. So hilarious!

Maya has a special "hiding place" between the bar stools under our kitchen island. Now, Nolan has a special "hiding place" too. When they are holding something that they don't want their sibling to get ahold of, they each go to their special spot. Also, if someone is chasing them, they like to run to their spot as if it's safe there. Nolan found this spot in the dining room between the wall and the china cabinet. Of course, as Nolan likes to invade Maya's space, Maya also likes to invade Nolan's space.

Daddy has been a busy bee the last month. He has been installing new flooring in our bathrooms (and the landing by the garage). This week, he redid the flooring in the guest bathroom. Maya and Nolan just couldn't resist helping. Mostly, Maya supervised while the men did the work. That's my kind of gal! :)

"We love our new flooring, Daddy! Now can we pleeeeeeease take a bath?"

Maya still loves hanging out with her "goggie" Piper. Somehow our couch pillow ended up on the floor and Piper doesn't pass up an opportunity to lay on a comfy spot. So Maya decided to join her!
