Funny moments, Funny faces

Maya and Nolan are developing so much personality. It is impossible to catch in photos, but I had to try. Recently, Darin and I bought a zucchini at the farmers market. As we were cooking it up, Maya insisted on eating the raw zucchini top. We couldn't understand it, but she loved it! She is our vegetable lover, indeed.

We have also been letting the kids sit on the countertop now and then, so that is where she is enjoying her snack.

Any parent knows that kids make hilarious faces and expressions. Lately, since Maya is mostly done with her molars, she is pretty happy. Since Nolan is still working on his, he has been more unhappy. Nolan is one of those kids who has a puppy dog sad face. His expression just melts your heart. I'll have to post some more of Nolan's smiles in an upcoming blog. I got my camera out one day when he was upset and snapped lots of good "sad" faces. I have no idea what he was sad about. Possibly I told him to stop chewing on the trash can. True story.
Here are some examples of some of the expressions the kids have!

A couple of posts ago, I wrote about Nolan's hiding spot. Here is a picture of Maya's hiding spot! She found this special spot and made it her own at around 15 months (right after she learned to walk!) and I find her here at least once a day. Sometimes she sits, sometimes she stands. It's adorable!

Nolan invades...

Both of the kids LOVE to brush their teeth. They run to the bathroom when it's time to brush and rush to sit in my lap first. After I brush their teeth, I let them hold their toothbrush and let them chew on it.

Maya always sticks out her tongue to brush her teeth. It actually makes things more difficult, but she thinks she's helping. I asked her to brush her teeth when I took this picture and this is what she did for me.

Another funny thing Maya is doing is flexing her muscles. Nolan started this funny business but he is harder to catch doing it. She started copying him and she LOVES to do it. Here she is starting to "flex".

Here she is again.

One more time! This one reminds me of those people who flex and scream at the same time to show how strong they are. :)

Even though our babies are growing up, they still love their snuggle time. Both of them love to give hugs and kisses and are especially cuddly after nap time.

Patty cake, patty cake...

Where's Nolan?

Let's make a fist!
