Fourth of July!

Happy belated Fourth of July!!  

We invited Gramma and Grampa over for dinner and dessert that evening and they brought some presents for the kids.  They each got some squirt guns, Nolan got a flashlight and Maya got this Hello Kitty umbrella.  She has learned how to put it up and take it down by herself so it has become a highly-used toy.  We even brought it with us to the park on Friday when it was drizzling. She told me we all could share it.  :)  

  

After dinner and dessert we decided to go to Gramma and Grampa's house to see some fireworks.  They can see them in the distance and we liked that idea instead of fighting traffic.  Plus, they started so late and we didn't want the kids to go to bed too late because we were having company in town the next day.

 The kids weren't as amazed as I had hoped (Nolan did stay seated but I think it was because he was tired!) so maybe in the future we'll go see a show up close....when the kids are older.  Until then, I liked our view and our short 5-minute drive home from Bob and Gayla's house!

 The next day, our friends Ryan, Jessica, Cooper and Jackson came to visit!!  They come up a couple of times a year, but this time was so special...they got to spend the night!!!   The kids had a blast playing together.  Here they are on the bed just chillin'.

 That evening we had some more friends come over and play...Megan, Brandon, Avery and Cade. Cade was too little to pose in this picture, but here are the biggies!

 Then we got a shot of the moms with most of the kids.

 Since Jessica, Ryan, Cooper and Jackson spent the night this time we had so much more time to hang out and talk/play.  (See picture below--jammies picture!) When they left, Nolan kept asking, "Why can't we go with them?"  "I want to go with them!"

We can't wait to have you come back next time R, J, C and J! We love you!!
