Darin took the day off work so we had a family day with just the 4 of us! Then Darin and I went out for a Valentine's Day dinner for a couple of hours to our favorite restaurant, J. Gilbert's.
One of our winter activities is dress up. Nolan isn't quite into capes yet (though he loves superheroes) but he sometimes likes to play dress up with Maya. For whatever reason, he always gets the much smaller pink dress and Maya gets the larger-sized Cinderella dress. I think I can guess who does the choosing. But he is a good sport.
One of the kids favorite activities is getting "rides" on Daddy. Daddy plays a camel, frog, crab, and various other animals. He is very good at it.
One morning this winter I decided to try these egg cups. I saw the recipe online and thought they looked so cute! A piece of toast and an egg wrapped in bacon! Cute and delicious, but a difficult clean up! The kids loved them too! I am still substitute teaching 1 day a week and we are bleessed that Gramma and Grampa watch the kids for us. This winter the weather has been so warm that there have been many days that they have been able to play outside!
Maya's favorite activity is the swing!
I had to take a picture of this.... When Maya watches TV she almost always ends up in some weird upside-down or twisty position. Nolan, my typically active boy, sits nicely in his seat the entire time (notice the tie-dye socks). But Maya always ends up doing something like this!
On this day, Maya came to lunch wearing a tiara. Need I say more?
Both of the kids are so good at puzzles. It amazes me! They love to put them together and have gotten so good at some of theirs. Maya put this Winnie the Pooh puzzle together entirely by herself on this day while I was working in the kitchen. Nolan put a dinosaur puzzle together but was unwilling to pose for a photo!
Nolan's turn to ride on Daddy's shoulders!
Another silly story... The kids really really really wanted to go to bed in Maya's toddler bed like this. It took some convincing, but we decided to try it. But it was clear after 45 minutes that it was just too much fun and no sleep was to be had (surprise, surprise). They were sure cute, though. Perhaps when we get them in their double beds we can try again!

What a fun mommy you are! Love the Valentine's Day food! Oh my, that photo of Nolan wearing the princess dress is SO cute. That will be so fun for him to see when he's older :) You guys had a fun February/March!
