Christmas Lights

This year we started a tradition of driving around and looking at Christmas lights around town.  We found some fantastic neighborhoods and the kids lots of fun seeing the lights!  It really put us in the Christmas spirit! We drove around 2 weekends in a row, first having a family dinner and then touring Prairie Village and Overland Park/Olathe.

Here we are at Red Robin enjoying a family dinner before our drive!

This house was amazing.  It was in Prairie Village and had so much going on.  There were moving scenes all along the front an sides of the house and more on the roof.  The owners encouraged people to come and walk around and get a close-up look of the decorations.

It also had a sleigh in the front yard for a photo op.  Cheese!
The second night we went to Leawood and Olathe.  This home was so cool...it had it's own radio station and the lights were coordinated to the Christmas music that was playing.

We then headed to a house near our own in Olathe.  It had tons of the inflatables set up and was designed for kids to walk around the yard to see all of them.  There was even fake snow that would shoot off the roof!

It is amazing to see all the beautiful displays people put up to celebrate Christmas.  We really enjoyed seeing all the Christmas spirit in Kansas City!

  2. Love all the new pics! We do that too - drive around to look at lights every year. That PV one is neat, we went there last year. Did you do the buildings at 90th (ish) and Metcalf that are choreographed to music? Those are amazing too. Love the gingerbread house pics too - your new lens works great in your house!
