Food galore

Maya and Nolan are getting better and better with eating solid foods and are slowly making their way to eating table food. Their most recent accomplishment is that they feed themselves "puffs"--a toddler snack like cheerios that disintegrates in your mouth. Maya is much faster than Nolan because her fine motor skills are better, but Nolan is more adventurous & will eat a wider variety of finger foods than Maya. He will also eat mandarin oranges and other table food that we grind in our mini food grinder. Maya spits all of these things out.

One night when Darin was working late, I fed the kids the manderin orange pieces. To help them eat it, I modeled chewing for them which seemed to help. I kept saying, "Chew! Chew! Chew!" Nolan laughed and laughed at me. Then Maya sneezed and I said, "God Bless you!" Nolan laughed so hard I thought he might choke on his food. So I got the video camera out and got a cute video of them laughing hysterically at me and at each other. It's funny how the stupidest things start a giggle-fest!!

Here is Maya enjoying her puffs.

Here is Nolan.

My new camera has a yellow light that comes on as a red-eye reducer and we haven't figured out how to turn it off. Maya has caught on to this light and squints in preparation for the flash each time. Needless to say, I have a LOT of pictures of her making this face.

  1. oh that last face of Maya is hilarious! What a smartie to recognize that and remember! Puffs were one of Cooper's first table foods too. As you saw when we visited, he'll still eat them! Man. oranges are also a favorite here. As they eat more and more table food it'll get so much easier on you!
Your kids are so giggly, I love it!
