Deanna Rose Farmstead

Today for Labor Day, we decided to make a family outing to Deanna Rose Farmstead and Petting Zoo. We had so much fun!!

Here we are at the entrance to the park. They recently completed an addition and it looks fabulous!

There is a Dairy Barn which has cows and a milking demonstration. We missed the demonstration this time, but maybe we'll catch it in the future. It sure was busy there! I have a feeling that everyone had the same idea we did.
As we continued through the park, we came across some goats as part of the petting zoo. The kids were mildly interested in the goats, but the goats did not care for us at all. Probably because we didn't pay for bottles of milk to feed them like the other kids. An occasional goat wandered by for a quick petting though.
There were also gardens of flowers, vegetables and fruit, as well as fishing, pony rides and child tractor rides. We were very impressed with the improvements to Deanna Rose...it really looks great and we are happy it is free and so close to our house! We are excited to return again as the kids get older!

  1. Isn't Deanna Rose great? We go there all the time! We'll have to go together sometime. It's nice on weekdays because it's usually not near as crowded.

  2. We were there Monday too! We got there around 9:30 am and it was definitely getting busy when we left around 11:30.
