California Dreamin'

Maya and Nolan took their first trip to San Diego to visit Papa and Nonnie last week. We had so much fun!!
Here they are in their "travel" outfits. We're goin' to the airport!! Grandad picked us up so we wouldn't have to take the shuttle with all of our gear.

Their first plane ride!!

Here we are before take-off. We fed the kids at take-off and landing so they never had any trouble with their ears. The nap situation was a different story though...

One evening we decided to take a walk with Papa and Nonnie. Nonnie got out her stroller for Nolan to ride in and Papa carried Maya. They loved seeing the fruit trees and feeling the cool breezes in their faces. We had some beautiful weather while we visited. It was in the 70's or 80's during the day and 60's at night.

During our walk, Nolan insisted on picking some grapefruit from Papa and Nonnie's trees. He wanted to carry them in his stroller. They were yummy!

Maya wanted to drive the "Gator" while we visited. Daddy helped get her situated.

She thought that was pretty fun!!

We also visited lots of friends and family but I didn't get very many pictures of them. Maya and Nolan made lots of new friends in a short time! Even their 10-month-old cousin Cruz was excited to meet them!

On our last day, we went to the Birch Aquarium. Papa and Nonnie showed Maya and Nolan the fish, sharks, eels, starfish, and other sea creatures that they had never seen before! They paid close attention, of course.

This tank was one of the most colorful. The blue surgeonfish in this tank was Ellen Degeneres' character in Finding Nemo. Neither Maya nor Nolan were very impressed with this information. But they did like the colors!

Thanks Papa and Nonnie for a fun vacation!! We can't wait to come back and visit again soon!
