Easter and Tree trimming!

We dyed Easter eggs this year and had a lot of fun.  Another first in the new house!
The kids wore their aprons that Gramma made for them a few years ago.  They still fit!!

In other spring news, we took out quite a few birch trees in our backyard in April.  The fence went in in March (yay!!) and we have been waiting for that to help us make a decision about where the best place for a garden would be.  Decision made!
Their removal proved to be a bit tricky once the fence was in.  Darin called in some favors from Bob, Brian and a work friend Chris--and we couldn't have done it without them!
As Bob used the chainsaw, the guys used a series of chains and ropes to pull the limbs into specific spots into our yard so they didn't fall on the fence or playhouse (or house).

The first set of trees were taken out by the boys when the fence went in.  These other 2 clusters (of 5 and 3) needed to come out to make room for Darin's garden!  Now we have a beautiful garden in their place which is already growing tomatoes, zucchini, basil, cilantro, beets, rosemary and lettuce.  A good trade.  :)
