One day of our trip we went to Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. We took the kids there when they were 6 months old but they didn't remember it. :)
Maya's favorite must-see was the sea-horses. Can you see one above Nolan's head?
This was so neat too--these are called leafy sea dragons. So intricate!

The kids loved seeing all the sea creatures up close. Lots of unusual creatures!
We caught the outdoor feeding time in the tide pools as well. There were octopus, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, sea anemones, and other creatures. To feed them, they take food and place it inside the animals reach. Fascinating to watch!
We love going on these adventures with Papa and Nonnie!
The view of the beach was beautiful as well.
Nolan's favorite part was this water table. Papa and Daddy helped show him how to direct the water to get a fast river going and Maya would send the boat down from the top of the river and watch it zoom to the bottom!
What a fun day!!
