While we were packing up our house, I opened the cedar chest I got from my mom where I keep my old keepsakes. Among the hand-made doll clothes, childhood favorite toys, and baby clothes, I found this dress that I recognized from my childhood.
This is a better close up of the smocking around the neck and arms. Maya loves it and I decided to let her wear it for the day. Then I thought she might like to add it to her wardrobe and wear it on "indoor" days. I know Gran wouldn't want it sitting in a drawer for another generation. Maya LOVES the dress, and I love watching her get enjoyment out of wearing something special that my Gran made for me.
