Tea for Two and Soccer!

Recently, Maya and I signed up with our friends for a mommy/daughter art class called Tea for Two.  It was through a local art studio called Kookiedoodle that has kids' art classes and drop-in times for art projects, along with special events like this.

Maya and her sweet little friend Lia were so excited to be able to do it together!  Lia's mom, Gina, and I have become friends as well so it's fun for the moms too.  :)
When we arrived, we ran into another mommy/daughter team from our school and friends of ours as well...Gracie and Kim!  We were so excited to get a table together for the 6 of us!
After coffee, punch and scones, they had us play a silly game as a warm up.  Each of us put a plate on our heads and were told to draw all these things without looking!  Whoever did the best job won a prize.  We didn't win.  :)
The tea pots were cardboard and so after painting the spout, handle and trim, each of the girls got to pick out the paper they wanted to use to decoupage the rest of the teapot!  Maya chose this pretty pink/yellow pattern and it turned out so beautifully.  She also chose a pink ribbon around the top.
Here is a (dark) picture of all the girls in the class with Alice in Wonderland sitting in the middle.  Quite a large group!
And here are the 3 mommies with our 3 girls!
Our teapot!  We had such a nice time together and it was really fun to do just a mommy/daughter activity.
Later that week we met Lia and her brother Henry out to see the Frozen sing-along.  The kids all had a blast!  Nolan kept saying he didn't want to sing along, but he was sure glued to the screen watching and bopping to the music.
Nolan had the opportunity to be on a soccer team this winter with some of his pre-K buddies.  He loved it!
It is indoor soccer, of course, and it was fun to watch the kids run around and try to get the soccer ball.  By the end of 6 weeks we saw huge improvements and we were proud of them!
 Nolan the soccer player!
Lia's dad, Tim, was the coach and this picture shows how enthusiastic he was.  He was a great coach and we hope to end up on a team with him as our coach again!
And along with a medal, each kid got a soccer trophy as well.  He liked soccer so much that he is going to join a little soccer program this spring and learn some more footwork and skills for the future.  Should be fun to be outdoors this time!
