Enjoying January...

After the birthday fun, we had a couple of weeks to enjoy before Maya's tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy.

So we did some things that we might not have a chance to do for a few weeks.  First, I had to include this picture of Maya's new puzzle.  She LOVES this puzzle.  It is actually 3 puzzles that can be done individually and then slide next to each other to make this panorama.  In January she did it around 3 times a day!
The one activity we did twice was go swimming at the gym.  I wanted the kids to keep up their love (like?) of the water during winter so hopefully we can make more swimming progress this summer.  They love these floaties they have and for the first time ever, they both put on goggles and put their faces under water!
Even though this picture is sideways (it won't turn....camera phone.  Ack.)  you can see what Maya spent 15 minutes doing during this swimming day.  She literally swam around holding her breath and puttinig her face in the water to see under water.  This was so amazing considering that just 6 months ago, she cried every day during swim lessons.
Nolan has always been a bit more timid in the water, but he gave the goggles a go too. He is a little slower to warm up to the idea of holding his breath and going under water but he had so much fun and really enjoys splashing and swimming with his floatie.
 Ready to jump in!
The day before Maya's surgery, we decided to have a special last lunch at Wendy's.  (Maya's pick)  Along with her cheeseburger kid's meal with french fries, she even got a vanilla frosty, her favorite.
This picture was the kids' idea....they said, "Let's take a picture of us with full tummies!"  Haha!  Guess it's time to go home!
