After Christmas, Papa and Nonnie came for a visit to Kansas! We always love having them come and we were so excited this year that it was our turn to have them stay here at our house with us! We waited and opened our Christmas to and from them when they were in town and had fun playing with our new toys. Even Darin got a new toy!
Can you see the helicopter he is controlling with the remote? One of Maya's gifts was this musical jewelry box. She loves it! The ballerina spins around while the music plays.
Along with his Christmas presents, Nolan got a special delivery on this day. Can you see his excitement?
Nonnie made him a special quilt for his bed in a baseball theme! Maya got a special quilt last winter with a doll theme using pink/green to match her room. Nolan was wondering if he was going to get one too and had been waiting so patiently! Nonnie's hands can only work so fast!
A close up of the pattern.
We had lots of relaxing and "hanging around" time when Papa and Nonnie were her which was really nice. Nonnie played games...
The kids showed them their new Star Wars Angry birds jenga game...And we Legoed....
and puzzled....
All done!
We even put Papa to work installing a bow holder for my cello stand. It was custom made by my parents and their friends in the Lemurian Crafts.
In the mornings, my dad had a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Nolan enjoyed mixing cereals just like Papa!
Many evenings we spent together with the Dills playing games and hanging out. One evening we got the whole gang together including Grandad and took that opportunity to get a group photo of the whole family.
This pictures of my family cracks me up.
I think it might have snowed 3 times in the week Papa and Nonnie were here. Papa wanted cold weather and he got it! It was in the teens and down to 0 one day when they were here. Brrrrrr! One evening it even snowed about 3-4"! The next day Maya and Nolan wanted to go out and play even though the grown-ups thought 30 degrees was too cold for us!
But we got them all suited up in their snow gear and sent them out in the backyard by themselves. I love that they are at the age now that we can do that and keep an eye on them from the comfort of my warm home.
We love having Papa and Nonnie come to visit. It is so special to show them all the things about our daily life that we love to do and some of our little routines we have each day. Can't wait to see them next time!
