The day before Maya and Nolan's actual birthday they brought birthday treats to school for snack time. We thought long and hard about it and decided to make snowmen cake pops! Gwyn came over and helped me with all the tricks since she is a cake pop expert. :)
Of course the day I made them they each got to eat one to make sure they tasted okay. :)
The first thing we did was open up presents! We saved our family presents for their actual birthday. This year from Darin and I each kid got 1 bigger present. Nolan got a Cars bike he has been BEGGING for (see how thrilled he is?)
And Maya got this trampoline! They both loved their gifts and it is always a nice feeling as a parent to hit one out of the park. :)
Darin took the day off work and they love having a family day with all 4 of us together. This picture wasn't from their actual birthday but this is exactly what happens on Daddy days. Lots of horsey riding and playtime!
We also got a special delivery for their birthday--their new big kid mattresses were delivered! Darin got their big kid beds put together which was actually their Christmas present from us. They LOVE their new beds! Maya picked a horse theme for her room...
And Nolan picked a space theme. Neither one has fallen out of their beds in the 2 weeks they have had them. I think they were ready!
For their birthday dinner the kids chose to go to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant.
They deliver your meal to you by train and drops the meal at your table. The kids love it! The kids each got a free ice cream sundae which was as big as their heads. They kindly shared with their mommy and daddy. :)
And to end, Daddy also took them out a couple of weeks ago to make a snowman before the snow melted for good. I love the improvised snowman face. :)

What fun! I can't believe we haven't seen their new beds yet. Sounds like the kids had an awesome birthday. :)
