Maya and Nolan's blog: Gymboree birthday party!

Last weekend Maya and Nolan had their first "friend" birthday party. We had the party at Gymboree and it was a smashing success! To start the party we had introductions. The kids all sat in a circle on the mat while the adults introduced everyone. This was a good opportunity to get pictures of as many kids as I could! Left to right we have Craig, then Nolan, Maya Alexa and Wyatt.

After that we had some dance time!! Maya wanted to dance with Daddy and Nolan loved busting out his dance moves by himself!

We had lots of games during our play time. The teacher did a good job of coordinating them with the Winnie the Pooh theme. This mat was a large log that the kids jumped off of in Hundred Acre Wood. First goes Alexa!

There was also a game of jumping off the platform into the "water". Both of my kids are very careful with activities, not taking a lot of chances. I was so proud that Nolan loved this and bravely jumped lots of time!

The biggest party hit was this log rolling game. You can see all the kids lined up with the parents behind them. From left to right..Craig, Tripp, Alexa, Cole, Brady, Wyatt, Nolan and Maya. Not pictured were Annie and Charlotte who were busy playing with other activities.

And the log rolls over.....whoa!!!! You can see the parents catch their kids....this game was so much fun that the kids jumped right back on to do it again and again!!

There was also a "hunny pot" game where the kids get into this huge cylinder and then get dumped out. Here comes Tripp!!

And the obstacle course!

The kids also played a game with bubbles. They were given these castanets and were told that they were butterflies. Pooh loves butterflies! Their butterflies had to "eat" as many bubbles as they could!!

After play time, it was cupcake time! Here are the chocolate cupcakes I made for Nolan with the blue icing he requested.

And Maya requested vanilla cupcakes with pink icing!

We all sang happy birthday to Maya and Nolan and then they blew out their candles!

Yum! I finally got a good picture of Maya eating her birthday cupcake!

My sweet friend Celeste (Craig's mom) took some awesome pictures of our friends at the party while Darin and I handed out cupcakes. Here are the ones that turned out. (Of course now I don't have a picture of her!)
