I took the kids' pictures outside the dentist office. I wanted to get one of each of them in the dental chair, but despite our reading of many "going to the dentist" books, both kids were pretty freaked out once we got into the little check-up room. Maya did an awesome job though, and got her teeth cleaned and also got a flouride treatment!
On Nolan's appointment day, he really tried to stall us outside the office. He didn't really want to go and found this tree to play peek-a-boo behind.
But he did a great job too...I was really impressed with him!
He got the same cleaning and flouride treatment Maya did. With it being close to Halloween, he also got a cup and some toys to take home (and some for Maya) which made him really happy.
One of the toys they got was a skeleton attached to a little parachute. Grampa went up to the loft area and floated the skeleton down for the kids. They loved it!
Another big milestone lately has been the kids moving to toddler beds! It has been a terrific change. The kids love getting into bed all by themselves and they still think they have to wait for Mommy or Daddy to come and get them when they wake up! We do have childproof doorknobs just in case, but it's been about a month and it has been awesome. Let's hope it stays that way!!
One last picture....
We had a terrible time with spiders this summer! These huge spiders kept making enormous webs around the outside of our house. There were 2 in the front yard that we could see from our bay window...they were there for a few weeks! One day the kids and I were swinging out back and I spotted this monstrous fat spider in a huge web. Darin later came out and stabbed him with a stick. Icky. I'm glad the weather has cooled enough to send them packing.
