Hanging around

I have been pretty quiet on the blog lately but I am finally catching up! The weather here has been fantastic so we have been getting outside as much as we can to enjoy it. The kids love to take walks and so we go around the neighborhood playing games as we go. Sometimes we turn mailboxes into hippos and tiptoe past them or pretend cracks in the ground are snakes we need to jump over. Either way, we always have fun!

This picture cracks me up. The kids have so many conversations with each other and their voice inflection mimics the adults they hear. It is so funny to hear what comes out of their mouths and how they talk to each other! They were waiting for me to catch up with them when I snapped this photo.

In our backyard they sometimes kick balls around when their playset in full of spiderwebs or they are done swinging.

We have a Rose of Sharon bush on the side of the house with beautiful purple blooms on it. Smells good mom!

Even Piper can pose for a good shot now and then!

The swings have become the new favorite place to play in the backyard. Maya loves to swing high on the big girl swing and Nolan still prefers the security of the toddler swing. However, Maya is too scared to go down the slide and Nolan is a pro.

We recently met my friend Emily and her son Luke at a nearby park. Maya loved to call after Luke loudly (probably to boss him around!) and since she can't say her L's it comes out, "Yuke!! Yuke!!" So cute!

Giggles!

Walking around the park hand in hand.

Taking a "nap" during play time. Maya is really big on taking fake naps and asking everyone to be quiet so she can sleep. When we aren't quiet enough she says, "Mommy, you woke me up!"

We also did a little bumblebee cookie decorating project recently. We saw it in a magazine and thought it would be fun to do! Here are the kids posing with the materials!

Putting icing on the cookies...

More of Nolan's icing went in his mouth than on the cookie!

The finished product!

Cheese!!

We made a cookie for Daddy too and the kids BOTH had to bring it to him to eat.

The kids also had their first day of Children's Day Out this year! They were SO EXCITED to go to school and they remembered it from last year. They are both good helpers this year and can carry their lunch boxes in to school. This frees up my hands to carry their backpacks, sippy cups, and pillow pets which they insist on bringing this year. That's a lot of stuff! We look like we are moving in every Friday!

My big boy ready for his first day!!

My big girl ready for her big day too! She taught Nolan to carry the lunch bag like a purse on his arm. So cute!

And here are some other random and cute pictures from the last month.

Making a sandwich...Daddy and Maya are the bun and Nolan is the cheese!

Pretty girl!

Playing around the house!
