So have you heard of that show on TV called Shaq vs. ? Shaq goes up against all types of people (athletes, spelling bee champs, etc.) and tries to beat them at their sport/activity. I think I'm going to start some blog postings called "Nolan versus" to record the battles that Nolan faces. This time it's "Nolan vs. the dirt". I think the dirt won.
We went to Antioch park last week with some friends on a Kappa Playdate. It was a very hot day and we all were sweating like mad. After awhile, we all went up to this small play town up the hill from the jungle gym. The kids were having a blast, and the adults (including me) were following them around, chatting, and mostly paying attention. The next thing I know, Nolan has 2 handfuls of this silty dirt in his hands and before I can stop him he dumps it directly on his head. Of course he was already filthy from falling in the dirt a couple of times so he has it all over

his legs and arms. Needless to say, this turned my blonde boy into quite the brunette. Luckily, my friend Amanda had her camera and snapped some photos of the hilarious ordeal.
The kids and I are staring in amazement and wondering what on earth to do with him. No one wants to pick this muddy boy up! Of course while I was deciding all of this, he grabbed 2 more handfuls of dirt and did it again. Oh, Nolan.
He was not pleased with the effort it took to get the dirt of out his hair in the bath. But he eventually got clean and I had the dirt in my bath to prove it.
Oh Nolan, that is hilarious! I can't believe how dirty he got! You probably had to give him a bath immediately, huh? What a pain! Looks like you had fun though!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the dirt - SUCH a boy! He looks like he has brown hair with all the dirt. :) Your Portland trip looked like a blast - it looked beautiful there. I can't wait to catch up with you - seems like it's been forever!
