Easter Weekend

Easter weekend "family time" started off on Friday for us. Brian, Kevin and Darin all brewed a batch of beer in our garage. While the boys were brewing, the moms and kids were partying inside! Ethan and Sydney were in school, but the the Dills all came over as did Terrilyn. It was a lot of fun to have the gang over here hanging out and I can't wait until the next time!

This picture was from a few days earlier...Maya is showing off her walking skills. She is actually quite stable but still refuses to walk in hard-soled shoes. She only walks barefoot or in her Robeez (which are like moccasins). Nolan has graduated to walking in "big boy" shoes and loves to clunk around in them. He especially enjoys stomping now that he has loud shoes!

Here is a great picture of Terrilyn playing with Maya. I think they were finding Maya's belly button. hee hee!

Brian and Terrilyn got Maya and Nolan Easter baskets and gave them to the kids early. Along with some cute summer clothes, they each got these headbands which provided lots of entertainment. Here is our little sunflower.

And here is our little Easter bunny. Nolan loved wearing these around the house. He thought it was hilarious!

Here are the Dill and Schmanke cousins all lined up.

On Saturday, we headed up to Holton to visit Gramma Gayla and Grampa Bob for Easter. Gramma and Grampa got them Easter baskets too, so the kids opened those early as well. They got some more cute spring/summer outfits from Gramma and Grampa and some books as well. Here Daddy is reading one of their new books to them. Both Maya and Nolan LOVE books right now. When Nolan is being ornery and running away from me (because I need to change his diaper or change his clothes), I just tell him that it's time to read a book. He stops what he's doing and crawls down (or up) the stairs. Works like a charm! I'd better be careful though because pretty soon he might start associating books with something bad!!

After Easter baskets, we decided to go out to see the cows that are along the fenceline in Bob and Gayla's backyard. After a few attempts, the cows decided they weren't scared of Nolan, and Nolan decided he wasn't scared of the cows. He learned to say "MOO" on this day because we had so much practice!

Here we are watching the cows and practicing our "moos".

On Easter morning, Nolan got their Easter baskets from the Easter bunny (aka Mom and Dad). Here is Nolan eating his first M&M. It was love at first bite.

Maya loved shaking her eggs so much! I put M&M's and jelly beans inside of them and they were like little maracas. A great toy until they got dropped on the ground and candy scattered everywhere!

Here we are all dressed up Easter morning.

For lunch on Easter Sunday we all went over to Nana's house. The Schmanke cousins posed for a quick picture.

Then it was time for an Easter egg hunt! Both kids did a great job at finding the eggs, even though I'm sure they didn't know what they were doing.

Hey, that's cheating, Uncle Brian!

This is some serious hunting!

Gotcha!

After lunch, we all went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Sydney and Maya absolutely love each other!

Maya and Daddy had some good bonding time. Nolan mostly ran around the grass chasing leaves or balls. Hard to get a good picture of that!

Hope you had a great Easter as well!

Looks like you guys had a great time in Holton. How fun to see cows up close and personal! Great photos of you with Maya and Darin with Maya and Nolan.
