Happy Halloween!

On Halloween, we started our day at Kindermusik with a Halloween party. All the kids dressed up and it was so neat to see them in their costumes. For Halloween, Nolan was a scarecrow.

And Maya was a ladybug! Her costume would have been great for trick-or-treating cause it was so warm, but we ended up taking it off of her when we spent time indoors.

After Kindermusik, it was time for naps and pumpkin carving! Darin fashioned a carving tool using his vice grips (what else is one to use?) and his pumpkin came out looking great. I went with the standard triangle-eyed jack-o-lantern and was pleased that I didn't slice my fingers off.

Later that afternoon we went to Gwyn and Kevin's to show off our costumes. Nolan was less than thrilled to be posing with these 2 large white cats that seemed to appear out of nowhere....to him, at least. Maya just loves her cousins!

Then it was off to Brian and Terrilyn's for a visit with the Schmanke family. Gramma and Grampa were in town also, so they got to see all the kids in their costumes. Sydney had already left for a party, but Ethan was all dressed as a skeleton and was super scary....just ask Nolan!

Although we didn't trick-or-treat, the kids made out like bandits, thanks to some generous aunts, uncles, and grandparents, and we had a great holiday.
