Playtime!

Here are some of our more ordinary moments that make me smile.

Lately, Nolan has been into playing princesses with Maya.  I just love it when they play together and usually he is the one who does what Maya wants.  Maya will bring her Jasmine figurine with her wherever she goes and Nolan likes to bring Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.  What is funny is that I will offer him one of his superheros or construction workers and he insists on his princesses!  Adorable!

Here they are lining their princesses up as they pretend play.  They are getting so creative when they play together and it is a lot of fun to hear the conversations and watch the interactions between them.  Best friends!

Another obsession lately for Nolan has been riding this big wheel trike.  He finally practiced and learned how to pedal and now that is all he wants to do.  When we load up in the car each day to go somewhere he tries to squeeze in 10 seconds of bike-riding time while I buckle Maya in.
On this particular day, the garbage men were coming around and that brings up another one of Nolan's likes--watching the recycle, garbage and yard waste trucks come around and empty all the bins.  He loves those trucks!  I like how he paused and crossed his arms while he watched them.  Most of the garbage guys are so friendly and wave to us, even if we are sitting inside.

While Nolan is toodling around on his trike Maya likes to play pretend store.  She or I sit on the step and we take turns buying and selling invisible food from each other.

Most of the time her food is to feed her baby or princesses.

A few weeks ago we had the Dill family over for dinner.  While the adults played games we got the kids set up with a movie night.  They all got their sleeping bags and pillows out and lined up to watch Gnomeo and Juliet.
Aren't they sweet all in a row?

My kids really enjoyed the movie which they hadn't seen before.  After the movie, Gwyn asked Maya what her favorite part was.  Maya's answer?  "I liked-ed when the princess cried." Nice.

Janae was laying on the end and was looking so cute in her little pj's!  It's fun that my kids are old enough to stay up late for a movie night on special occasions like this!

Some of these, the most mundane and ordinary daily experiences, are actually the most special to me.  I am so happy to be able to stay at home with my kids and be a part of it all!
