On Sunday we decided to get all dressed up in our costumes so we could take pictures in the leaves outside before Daddy raked them up. This year Maya was a bunny and Nolan was a T-Rex. Nolan blended in pretty well with the leaves...good camouflage for a predator!
Daddy thought it would be a good idea for Maya to hold Nolan's tail so we could see it in the picture. The kids thought that was pretty funny!!
After some pictures, we took off their costumes and they got a running start into the leaf pile! Wheee!
This was the first time we made a leaf pile like this...perhaps they weren't ready last year for this kind of fun. This year it was an absolute blast!
Nolan loved it though!
"Look at all these leaves, Mommy!"
"I have a leaf, where?"
Then at one point, they decided it would be fun to throw leaves on Mommy while I took pictures. I had a hard time catching them in my pictures with them running at me so fast! This was by far the most fun activity they did with the leaves.
Hee hee!!
Then Maya ended up getting some on her head too!!
At one point I told the kids, "I have leaves in my underwear!" Nolan thought that was hilarious!! And since he is in a parrot phase, he turned to me and said, "You have leaves in you underwear?" This is a conversation I never thought we would have!
And all good things must come to an end. Even if it makes the little ones sad. Daddy said it was time to clean up! But cleaning can be fun too!! Daddy had to stomp on the leaves in the trash barrel to get them to compress. Maya and Nolan tried to help Daddy but they just weren't tall enough!

Those leaf pics are great! I love the one with Maya's sad face. :) We did the same thing over the weekend and Cole was also throwing leaves at me while I was taking pics of him and thought it was hilarious. Love them in their costumes too! :) Linsey
ReplyDeleteThose leaf pictures are the BEST! You need to frame those for fall next year! I can't wait until our leaves start falling! (except for the clean-up part, maybe we can Darin over here to help with that, I'm impressed by him getting IN the trash bin!)
