Visit with Grandad

On Memorial Day weekend, we went as a family to my Grandad's house to see his garden. He has been busy outdoors a lot this season getting ready for various garden tours from local garden clubs, college groups, and friends.

We all had a fun time walking around and seeing all his new and old plants. This hosta in the front yard has huge leaves. I said something about them being big enough to drink from and Nolan took it literally!

We meandered through the pathways...

Found some fun places to stand...(Go K-State!)

and played follow the leader!

There is a big rock in the front yard that Gwyn and I had our pictures taken while sitting on every summer. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have Maya and Nolan sit there too! It's a family tradition! I wonder how much longer I have until they tell me, "I am not going to kiss him/her!" hee hee!

Such sweet angels!

I believe this is my Grandad's favorite tree. A Picea Pendula?

A view of part of the backyard.

Maya was pleased as usual to have her picture taken!

Nolan had fun running through the various pathways and grassy areas!

Nolan also loved picking up rocks along the pathways. We are still working on holding on to rocks instead of throwing them or putting them in Grandad's fountain!

Thanks for showing us around Grandad!
